Dusky Woodswallows are summer migrants, common in the Canberra region but less so in its gardens. Birds arrive in August and September, then move to woodland areas to breed. Largest numbers are recorded in autumn when post-breeding flocking behaviour results in large groups prior to northward migration. Numbers can fluctuate markedly from year to year. Nesting is recorded from mid-October to late November and dependent young from December to late January. R=73. BR=50.
