The Weebill is Australia's smallest bird. They have a clear, pleasant call that is easily recognised. They characteristically flutter in and around the outer foliage of trees collecting insects, often in association with Thornbills, Silvereyes and other birds in winter feeding flocks. Weebill numbers are regular throughout the year being slightly greater during the winter.

Breeding starts early with nest building in mid-July. Although nesting is mostly over by late November it may extend through most of the year with some nest records as late as March. Dependent young are mostly seen from late November to early January. R=35. BR=24.
