The Rose Robin is essentially a forest bird, but as an altitudinal
migrant they usually show up in the suburbs in the cooler months, especially
in gardens with dense vegetation.
May and August are the peak months for garden records, suggesting
they are moving through rather than staying for the winter. Almost none
are recorded from October to March. Numbers have almost tripled in the
second half of the survey, although the reason for this is not evident.
This increase happened quite abruptly and is associated with an increase
in the time birds are staying in gardens and the number of weeks of the
year in which they are recorded. R=77. BR=NA
