Canberra Ornithologists Group uses only minimal web-page user information, and generally COG does not record data that directly identifies users of the site.

Data that indirectly identifies users is collected during use of the COG web site includes Your computer's network address, so the web server can communicate with the correct computer. Information about tour browser type and operating system may be collected as well.

COG does not collect navigation and click-stream Data at present but may in the future. When this occurs, users will be notified.

Where you send emails to COG the data is recorded, but your address and contact details may not be your actual name and address, so the information is used only for the purposes of electronic communication with you, and is not considered as directly identifying you.

No data about users will be used in any way to create lists of identified users, and any data collected will not be used for any other purpose except to maintain the operation of the website, and improve its usability and service provision.

Use of cookies.
The COG website does not send cookies now, but may in the future when the website is expanded to a more dynamic capacity. When this occurs, users will be notified. When cookies are used they would not collect or store information about the user except to enable the user to use the website effectively.
Where this website includes links to other sites, the privacy practice of those sites is the responsibility of the site owners and not COG. COG accepts no responsibility for those sites.

COG endeavours (within the capacity of the volunteer web designers and webmasters) to make this website as fully accessible as possible for people with disabilities or with older browsers and low-speed connections.
